ED Registration Specialist I
Job Summary:
The ED Registration Specialist I is responsible for performing onsite registration, arrival processes, discharge, and insurance validation in a fast-paced emergency department setting. This role ensures the accuracy and completeness of patient information while providing excellent customer service. The Specialist resolves issues related to registration, billing, insurance, and payment of accounts with occasional guidance and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all assigned functions per departmental guidelines, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Accurately and thoroughly enter patient information into the admissions, discharge, transfer, and billing systems.
- Provide status updates and customer service in the waiting room, in-room, and prior to patient departure.
- Request payment for patient account balances when necessary and provide payment plan information.
- Assist with administrative functions to support departmental operations.
- Additional duties as assigned.
